Blood, sweat, tears and trophies: our 2025 winners

There's something special about taking a moment to properly celebrate the people who make everything possible – it’s why every year (as the merriment sets in!) we pause, reflect and celebrate our team awards as part of our Christmas celebrations.

This year's awards recognised the innovation, dedication, quality and team spirit that defines who we are. Here's to everyone who was nominated and especially to those who took home the new mantlepiece jewellery.

The Spark Award

Celebrating those who bring bright ideas, creative problem solving and a “what if we tried this?” mindset.

Winner: Amy’s led not one but two major tech migrations this year, teaching herself as she went and supporting the entire team through the chaos that tech changes brings.

Highly Commended: Claire has only been with us five short months but already making waves with updated processes and her infectious enthusiasm for AI that's elevating the entire team's efficiency.

A shout out to other category finalists Chez Lunn, Grant Callaghan, Holly Turnbull

The Excellence Award

Showcasing those who consistently deliver work so good it makes everyone else raise their game.

Winner: Laura’s design work consistently hits the mark without needing checks or revisions. From elevating the Verve and Evo/Transformation brands to ensuring we stand tall alongside the biggest players in our industry, Laura sets the bar high and casually exceeds it every single time.

Shout out to other category finalists Alex Buckle, Jade Lai, Jas Nattrass, Michael Cooke

The Spirit Award

For those who live and breathe everything ‘Verve’ - supportive, positive, team-first and always willing to help.

Winner: Ali has embraced his evolving role with serious dedication this year - mentoring newer team members, re-prioritising his workload to support others, and being the person everyone turns to for help.

Highly Commended: Abby is described as "a light within the office," tackling everything with enthusiasm, care and an infectious smile.

Shout out to other category finalists Jamie Rudrum, Jay Dovaston, Paul Sylvester-Evans.

The Managers' Player Award

Celebrating those who stepped up, stood out, and made a massive impact this year.

Winner: Alex Woodcock embodies everything about Verve after just over one year with us - mentoring newbies, flying through exams, delivering quality work time and time again and finding the time and inclination to drive innovation.

Highly Commended: Naomi came back from maternity leave firing on all cylinders, developing our internal comms framework and exploring data tools that support our mission to become data-led in all areas of the business.

Shout out to other category finalists Abby Whitaker, Alanis Daniel, Zsolt Domjan.

The Kudos Award

The teammate who’s recognised again and again through our Kudos system, for doing brilliant things and making a real difference.

Winner: Maddie is the ‘Queen of Compliance’ who's hosted our highest-rated webinar, delivered countless brilliant incubator sessions, and consistently supported the team with thoroughness and expertise. Not only did she receive the most Kudos this year, she also dished out the most to her fellow colleagues.

Shout out to other category finalists Ali Wilson, Grant Callaghan, Jas Nattrass, Laura Pearson.

The Verve Award

Honouring an individual who’s had a stand-out year.

Winner: Paul has single-handedly delivered our T&C service this year – taking control of the end-to-end training programme, building relationships with clients and developing and nurturing adviser talent across our firms.

The glowing client feedback is testament to his commitment to keeping everything and everyone on track. His resilience needed applauding this year – when the going got tough, he rolled up his sleeves and faced what was in front of him with grace.

The Outstanding Contribution Award

For one year only, to recognise the unwavering commitment and enthusiasm for all things Verve.

Winner: Jo, as Chief Operations Officer, has an extensive remit to drive forward the delivery and ever-increasing quality standards for our adviser support departments.

This year, she’s done exactly that and so much more, including new business calls, event hosting and whitepaper writing.

What really won her the award though was her finding time for endless punning and CPD brunching.

What these awards really mean.

These awards are so much more than just an excuse to celebrate the great work of our colleagues. They celebrate the culture we're building together. When our team innovates, freely mentors the next generation and remains committed to making a positive impact in financial services - that's the Verve difference.

To our clients and partners, this is just some of the team working behind the scenes on your behalf. People who care about what we deliver, support each other and are constantly learning and growing. We invest in our people because when they thrive, we thrive as a business.

And to everyone nominated, highly commended and awarded: thank you for setting the bar and inspiring us all to reach it. Here's to another year of growth, innovation, and doing brilliant work together! 2026, let’s be having you…
