I was in the Royal Engineers in my early 20s. I then worked on Teesside Steel Works for nearly 12 years. During this time I completed a Honours Degree in Psychology at the Open University, and I also volunteered as a Listening Volunteer with Teesside Samaritans. More recently I enrolled on the Regulated Financial Planning Diploma through the Verve Foundation, then 20 months later I joined Verve via The Grad Scheme.
I'm a paraplanner, completing reports, data gathering, and liaising with clients.
I enjoy working out and training in Brazilian Jiujitsu. I'm also a big Newcastle United Fan.
When I was in the Army we were flying to Belize, on the way we had a 14 hour stop off in Washington DC. So as you would expect from soldiers we found a bar to go to. However, we thought that we should at least do some site seeing while being in a place we probably wouldn't go to again. So we got a taxi to the White House. While the taxi was waiting we ran down for a photo of us all in front of it, then straight back to the taxi, which took us back to the bar.
It's a really friendly place where everyone is more than happy to help you when you're stuck.
If you're unsure about something, ask those around you.
