I studied Sociology in Manchester at university and graduated in 2001, but have only had financial type jobs since in various positions mainly doing accounts payable. I’ve held a variety of roles – receptionist, office manager, administrator, PA, paraplanner, operations and senior management – mainly within financial advice firms, until I joined Verve in October 2021 to head up the services we offer.
I'm an administrator completing data gathering for the paraplanning team.
I enjoy exercising, but running is my favourite. I have ran 3 marathons so far and have plans for more. I have made my majority of friends through running and my only wish is that I should have taken it up sooner. I would love to do the London Marathon, but its so hard to get into.
My cat is called Mr Danvers after a character in a PC game that I was playing with my husband at the time that we got him. He is 15 now (the cat, not my husband) While going on holiday to the South of France I ended up on a plane to Geneva instead. My parents drove overnight to pick me up and take me to France. This journey took them 15 hours in total. I'm always cold and will be the one packing socks and thin cardigans to go on holiday just in case it gets a bit chilly - which it always does I planned my wedding in less than 3 weeks. Went to meet my now husband for lunch one Monday and went back to work to request the day off 2 weeks later on the Friday as I had booked my wedding (you only had to give 2 weeks notice back then to get married).
Everyone has been so friendly. No-one gets upset with the many questions. The culture is also a very inclusive environment with efforts being made to include everyone.
Be prepared to absorb lots and lots of knowledge very early on. Lots of reading and note taking. Then be prepared to be asking lots and lots of questions. There's so much to learn in a small amount of time.
