I studied at Cleveland College of Art and Design in Middlesbrough (now known as the Northern School of Art) for an Extended Level 3 Diploma in Graphic Design along with an AS Level in Photography, and left college with straight distinction stars. I’m not going to lie it was my favourite place ever! If I could of got paid to stay at college forever I'd still be there now. I then went on to Leeds College of Art where I graduated with a degree in Visual Communication, which was more about communicating messages, ideas & concepts, which goes hand in hand with my role at Verve today.
I am responsible for making things look pretty and functional! I try to make the content as visually engaging as possible, which I must admit, can sometimes be hard in the world of finance! We are passionate about making finance accessible for everybody, and everyones journey starts with education and content. So keeping them engaged from that very first digital touchpoint is a priority.
Skiing is definitely my biggest passion, however I’m limited by the fact that we A - have little to no snow covered mountains in Britain and; B - that it's very expensive. So it's a hobby I only get to enjoy for one week of the year! My other big interest is alcohol - but not just drinking it, making it! I’m in my element when making cocktails, and experimenting with new flavours and ideas. I will often be found knocking up new recipes at home for me and my husband, or making cocktails for family and friends and parties & dinners.
I can’t swim and I am absolutely terrified of mushrooms.
The trust here is unreal. You are trusted to get on and do your work without being micromanaged every second of the day - they’re flexible, chilled out, and super fun. Work hard, play hard!
Don't be shy! Everyone is such good buddies here at verve, that it can be a little daunting working out where you’re going to fit in. But just dive in there and chat to everybody, and you will be one of us in no time.
