I get asked now on a weekly basis whether I am worried that the AI suitability report tools out there will decimate the paraplanning part of my business. My answer?
It starts with seeing what’s happening in the wider world.
When Duolingo announced they’d phase out contractors and use AI to train its system instead, the share price went up. Shareholders rubbed their hands in anticipation of the juicy profits from using algorithms instead of people.
But it got me thinking about the people that remain in Duolingo and how they got into those roles in the first place.
Presumably in the age-old way we all get into jobs; by taking junior roles, learning some skills, doing some graft, getting a promotion, learning some new skills, doing some more graft, getting another promotion, accumulating knowledge, and eventually passing it to the next wave of juniors.
