Innovation, scale and investing: How Eduardo Repetto of Avantis built a $170bn asset manager

We begin with the launch of Avantis, through to their growing global traction, and discuss their new partnership with Verve and how they’re engaging with UK advisers. Then turn to founder Eduardo Repetto, whose path runs from a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics to asset management, including his work helping build Dimensional, and the lessons that shaped his investment philosophy. The session explores why he chose to leave an established business to start something new, the opportunity he saw in the market, and the realities of launching an investment business from scratch.

Look at how Avantis has grown into one of the fastest-growing asset managers in seven years, the approach behind that growth, and the gap they identified that advisers and investors have responded to. Followed by a delve into why Avantis appeals to the UK market, an introduction to their UK team, their six UCITS ETFs and their managed portfolio service, as well as their plans as an evolving service provider. The session will close on lessons in leadership and entrepreneurship, including advice for advisers building or growing their own firms.
